How to Get from Izmir Airport to Marmaris

İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport is one of the most common gateways to Marmaris after Dalaman. The drive is long: about 3.5 to 4 hours in normal traffic. Here is what you need to know to make it comfortable.
Distance and journey time
It is roughly 280–300 km from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Marmaris. The drive takes 3.5 to 4 hours in normal traffic and can be longer in summer, at weekends and when leaving İzmir. Allow another 45–60 minutes at the airport for baggage and passport control.
Directions
From the airport take the İzmir–Aydın motorway towards Aydın. After Aydın follow the signs for Muğla; beyond Muğla the road crosses hilly country down to Marmaris. The motorway section is fast and easy; the last stretch has bends and changes in height, so be careful at night and in the rain.
There are fuel stations and rest areas all along the route. Even so, it is a good habit to fill up before the mountainous section between Muğla and Marmaris.
Ways to get there
